Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT), the manager and operator of Khalifa Port Container Terminal (KPCT), has continued its ongoing successful streak by achieving a rare safety milestone of recording two million man-hours without a lost time incident in the port.

To celebrate this milestone ADT organised a safety celebration at KPCT that was attended by senior officials and several of ADT’s staff members.

Commending ADT’s employees on this accomplishment, Rex Gundle, Chief Operations Officer said, “Two million man-hours without an LTI is a great achievement and a testament to our ongoing commitment to safety. Operating in this live port environment, we can and should be proud of our successful efforts to protect our team and all of our stakeholders from the risk of injury while at our facility”.

“Safety is a top priority for ADT across all its operations and lines of business. On average the Abu Dhabi Terminals’ KPCT facility receives 3 vessels and 1,200 trucks daily, and our customers know that we understand and accept the responsibility to protect their cargo, their equipment and their staff in our daily activities. This new milestone reinforces our dedication to ensure smooth operations for all of our valued industry partners”.

Abu Dhabi Terminals continues to be one of the industry leaders in safety performance and contributes its success to the positive and safety conscious attitude of its team and operating partners in the port. The LTI reference (Lost Time Injury) is recognized globally as a key indicator for a company’s safety performance. ADT has a zero tolerance attitude towards unsafe behavior of its staff or visitors to the facility, and has had a perfect record in 2014 with zero LTI’s to date.
