Paramount, the world’s largest media and entertainment company, and kids’ entertainment brand, Nickelodeon, have partnered with Pirates Surf Rescue to launch a series of events in line with Paramount’s values of honoring the planet and celebrating the UAE’s Year of Sustainability and sub-theme ‘Today for Tomorrow’ – protecting the land, resources, and one another today, for a better tomorrow.

To kick off this partnership, the first activity was an event commemorating World Water Day, which brought together kids and families for an enlightening morning filled with exciting water-based activities that were both fun and educational. Marine Biologist Ayesha Bobat led several informative activations and at one of these sessions, students conducted an experiment in which they learned how to desalinate seawater by evaporation to produce drinking water. Ayesha shared illuminating facts and tips throughout the morning to help tackle the water shortage issue, including ensuring taps are closed when not needed, reusing water when possible, and watering plants either early morning or at night to prevent evaporation.

Nathaniel Alapide, a Filipino artist who creates sand art murals on the shorelines of Dubai, was also present at the event to creatively curate the partnership logo between Nickelodeon and Pirate Surf Rescue.

Tracey Grant, Country Manager & Vice President MENA at Paramount said, “At Paramount, our environmental, social, and governance strategy is critical to our success. We want our fans to join us on a journey to save the planet; therefore, we are delighted to have the opportunity to create and offer activities that inspire everyone in their own lives to change the way they use, consume, and manage water. Through this partnership with Pirates Surf Rescue, and in the Year of Sustainability in the UAE, we aim to continue supporting environmental activities through engaging and creative techniques.”
