Following its resounding success during the FIFA World Cup 2022, Zuma Doha is reopening its doors as a permanent location, bringing its award-winning contemporary Japanese cuisine and informal izakaya dining concept to Al Maha Island.

Zuma Doha is set to open its doors on the 3rd of October 2023, following a renovation that now incorporates key Zuma interior elements. Centered around three kitchens: the main kitchen, robata grill and sushi counter, changes include a DJ booth with a metallic grid backdrop, where live DJs will enhance the venue’s vibrant atmosphere, live edge louver walls, new custom cut metal sunshades and a booth based on omikuji fortune paper, perfect for Instagrammable moments. The revamped look will also feature a fabric installation on the terrace, with textures that effortlessly move with the breeze while guests take in stunning views of the Doha skyline.

The menu will feature the full selection of Zuma’s award-winning dishes and includes Spicy Beef Tenderloin with Sesame; Black Cod marinated in Miso; Grilled Seabass with Chilli and Ginger; Crispy Fried Squid with Green Chilli and Lime; Tempura Shrimp with Green Pea Wasabi and Chilli Dip, all complemented by signature cocktails and a world class wine and sake list.

Zuma on Al Maha Island will operate every day from 12pm to 1am, offering a relaxed, yet chic daytime ambiance with al fresco dining, then moving to a seductive evening scene with Zuma’s famed DJs performing until the early hours. The permanent reopening of the location on Al Maha Island further expands the brand’s presence in key locations across the region.

Rainer Becker, Creator and Co-Founder of Zuma, said: “The success we achieved with the Zuma pop-up in Doha during the FIFA World Cup 2022 was monumental, and we are thrilled to now reopen our doors to offer residents and visitors of Qatar our signature and dynamic dining experience for years to come.”

“We opened the first Zuma in London over 20 years ago, and we’re looking forward to embarking on our next 20 as we continue to expand both regionally and internationally,” added Becker.

Zuma was first established in London in 2002 by Rainer Becker, who fell in love with Japan after spending 6 years working there as Executive Chef of Park Hyatt. Today, Zuma has locations all over the world, including New York, Dubai, Rome, Miami and Hong Kong as well as the new permanent Qatari offering.
