Bahraini King lauds distinctive, historic ties with Kuwait

King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, of Bahrain, commended on Thursday his country’s historic and distinctive ties with Kuwait and UAE in light of continued development and progress of cooperation.
The Bahraini leader made the remarks during his reception of a delegation from the Abu Dhabi-based Eagle Hills Company – led by its board member Mohammed Al-Abbar; representatives of Diyar Al-Muharraq Company – an affiliate of Kuwait Finance House – Bahrain; Dean of Diplomatic Corps here Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain Sheikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah; and a number of Bahraini ministers and senior officials on the sidelines of inauguration ceremony of “Marassi Al-Bahrain” project.
In light of Bahrain’s special relations with both UAE and Kuwait, joint ventures would remain successful and serve the desired aspirations and common interests of these countries and their people, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) quoted King Hamad as saying.
He added that “Marassi Al-Bahrain” Project will boost the Kingdom’s urban development march.
He also praised the project which he considered among the economy-spurring ones, being in accordance with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 which is based on diversifying sources of income and non-reliance on oil wealth only.
“The King expressed sincere appreciation to the delegation of the two companies for their joint efforts at all levels, and confidence in Bahrain as a suitable host for such projects, and a favorable destination for investments, in general, and housing, tourism and leisure projects, in particular, wishing them every success,” noted BNA.
The Diyar Al-Muharraq and Eagle Hills signed a major partnership agreement to develop the “Marassi Al-Bahrain” Project, one of the most prestigious projects in the eastern coast of the Diyar Al-Muharraq City.
The 864,484-square-metre project, the first of its kind in Bahrain, will include luxurious hotels, restaurants, residential areas, business centers, a commercial mall, recreational facilities, a port for cruise ships, a central park, and heritage markets, said the official agency.
