KAHRAMAA Department Gets ISO Certification
The General Services Department at Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation “KAHRAMAA” received an ISO certification (ISO:9001/2008) recently.
The ISO certifications covers all department sections. Evaluation proved that all procedures, instructions, and policy at the department go in line with QMS in terms of customer orientation, leadership and employee participation, and quality improvement.
The earned achievement has added a new dimension in KAHRAMAA recognitions and appreciations across the world. The new success is the outcome of the relentless efforts, focused dedicated attentions and commendable team work among others of the department. The compliance was proven in the audit. The team formed from General Services Department and Quality and Continual Improvement Department has optimally led the QMS implementation.
The certification was awarded by TUV SUD having audited the system and performance of the department successfully.
KAHRAMAA has a plan to be an ISO certified Corporation after completing the requirements of Quality Management Systems at all departments. Ten other Departments have attained ISO after complying with all requirements of QMS.
Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation “KAHRAMAA” was established in July 2000 to regulate and maintain the supply of electricity and water to customers. KAHRAMAA has the privilege of being the sole transmission and distribution system owner and operator (TDSOO) for the electricity and water sector in Qatar.
KAHRAMAA buys, distributes and sells electricity and water. It formulates Power & Water Purchase Agreements (PWPA), owns, constructs and operates electricity & water transmission and distribution networks, sets-up plans and programs for the development of electricity & water networks, lays out relevant regulations, and provides consultancy services related to its activities.
