Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort Appoints Prabhash Prabhakaran Executive Chef

Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort’s new Executive Chef brings over two decades of experience with some of the world’s most luxurious hospitality brands to the emirate’s newest destination resort.

Executive Chef Prabhash Prabhakaran has taken the helm at Anantara Mina Al Arab overseeing the resort’s six restaurants and bars as well as banqueting operations, and elevating the culinary offering to an artform. He began his career with Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces. His first stint in the UAE was with Jumeirah in 2001.

In 2007, Chef Prabhash joined GHM Group and held senior roles in Muscat and Thailand. His journey with Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas began in 2013, as he served as Executive Chef in some of the brand’s properties across Thailand and Sri Lanka. His most recent position was at Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, where Chef Prabash oversaw some of the world’s most unique and celebrated culinary concepts, with the world’s first underwater wine cellar and an overwater bar with stargazing.

At Anantara Mina Al Arab, two of Anantara’s signature concepts have been brought to life by Chef Prabhash. The day-to-night Beach House offers exquisite Mediterranean fare, crafted cocktails on the terrace, and DJ beats and shisha under the starlit sky. Mekong presents the spice of the Anantara brand’s native Thailand, Vietnam and China reinterpreted for the modern palate while remaining true to traditional cooking techniques.

At all of the resort’s restaurants, local, sustainably sourced ingredients are proudly showcased – honey gathered from hives onsite and tended to in collaboration with locals, Dibba Bay oysters from the north of the UAE, catch of the day from the Arabian Gulf, and herbs and vegetables grown in the on-resort chef’s garden.
