His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and patron of Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF), has offered a grant worth AED3 million to allow students to purchase books during the 25th edition of the fair.

Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, (ADIBF) organiser, in coordination with the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), will distribute the grant which comes within the context of HH’s encouragement of students to read and gain the latest titles in knowledge, sciences and literature.

Jumaa al-Qubaisi, Director of the ADIBF, expressed profound thanks to HH for his significant support to science, education and culture and for encouraging children and youngsters to love reading to upgrade their educational and cultural understanding so as to be able to contribute effectively to the rapidly developing cultural renaissance in the country and gain experiences and skills required to engage in practical life. HH’s generous gesture, he added, was aimed to help youngsters interact with other cultures and civilisations and make their own contributions to the regional and international cultural scene.

Schools have arranged trips to the book fair to give the students the chance to be exposed to a huge number of books and activities.

Growing by 20% in terms of space from last year, the ADIBF accommodates 1,181 publishing houses from 63 countries, displaying more than 500,000 titles in 30 languages.
