The Martyrs’ Families Affairs Office at Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court has approved the main activities for observing the first anniversary of the Martyr’s Day on 30th November.

In a statement published on the WAM newswire, the Office said “the move is an attempt to unify special national events for the Martyr’s Day so that they match the importance of this national occasion, which celebrates the lives of Emirati sons who had made the supreme sacrifice to ensure the security, stability and safety of the UAE”.

The Martyr’s Day events will start at 8:00am on 30th November, 2015, with the lowering of the UAE flag across the country. The flag will remain lowered till 11:00am. It will be followed by a minute’s silence and supplication from 11:30am to 11:31am. After the moment’s silence, the UAE flag will be flown again with the playing of the UAE national anthem.
