Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Discusses Joint Investment with Portugal

Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) discussed today with a delegation from the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, currently on a visit to Doha, ways to enhance trade cooperation and exchange as well as joint investment.
Engineer Ali Abdul Latif Al Missned, Honourary Secretary of the Fund and Board member of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said during a meeting held between the two sides, that the State of Qatar is the fastest growing economies in the world, because of its great and diversified investment opportunities in all areas, noting that Qatar’s hosting of the World Cup 2022 opens the door for a lot of foreign and local investors to enter the Qatari market and provide the best experiences and also to achieve the mutual benefit .
He expressed the hope that members of the Portuguese delegation would not hesitate to obtain the information necessary for them to work and invest in the Qatari market, stressing the Chamber’s readiness to provide all information. Al Missned noted that the State of Qatar is different from other countries, especially with regard to the tax system and facilities provided to foreign and local investors, saying that attracts many investors to enter the Qatari market .
He pointed out that the Republic of Portugal has also a good geographic location that makes it a factor in attracting Qatari investors and businessmen, stressing the need for the private sector of both sides to play a big and active role so as to contribute to the promotion of joint trade exchanges and increase the national income of the country. For her part, Secretary General of the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Alyaa Abdullah said ” We have an interest in building strong economic ties with the State of Qatar, and when looking at the Qatar market, we find many diversified opportunities in areas such as construction, building materials, timber, tiles , agriculture, food, cement and other areas in which members of the visiting delegation are active, stressing the need to exploit such opportunities and take advantage of them.
She added that the most important characteristics of the Portuguese delegation that it includes representatives of many international and local companies in order to ensure the existence of opportunities from the various global markets, expressing the hope that the delegation would find support of the Chamber and those operating in the country, not only to establish companies but also to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. Meanwhile the Secretary -General of the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry invited members of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry to participate in the Portugal Economic Forum, due to be held in Portugal next June to opens the door for further opportunities aimed to enhance mutual cooperation.
