His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said that a country gets old if it loses its fighting spirit.

The Dubai Ruler took to Twitter and shared his lesson as part of the series “What Life Taught Me.”

He said, “Life has taught me … that countries will age if they lose their enthusiasm … and age if they lose their motivation … and grow old if they lose their fighting spirit… even if their youth increases… the minds that are filled with the flame of competition never get old.”

“What Life Taught Me” is a series through which the Dubai Ruler shares anecdotes and advises on social media.

During a field visit in June 2020, Sheikh Mohammed shared, “Life has taught me … that life does not stop… a stage ends for another to start … and one thing passes for another to come … just as the day and night rotate, the events follow… and the life is renewed… and the man always returns to the movement that God wanted… not to despair… Rather, it starts with a constant determination to make life…”

On Jan. 4, 2021, Mohammed marked the 15th anniversary of his Accession Day.

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the key milestones that have placed the UAE as a leading nation in the region and the world through an open letter he wrote to the people of the UAE.

Celebrating 15 years of heading the federal government, he addressed the major achievements that have transformed the UAE’s government work starting with the first federal strategy of 2007 to the announcement of the UAE Vision 2021 back in 2009.
