Sharjah Airport International Free Zone, SAIF Zone, has successfully participated in the Business Show 2014 exhibition at London’s Olympia, which witnessed a turnout of more than 25,000 visitors.

The event, which attracted 350 exhibitors, comprised a number of seminars and 12 workshop theatres.

“The UK is one of the UAE’s largest and oldest trade partners. There are 401 British companies in SAIF Zone, placing the UK 4th in terms of the number of companies in the zone,” said Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of Sharjah Airport International Free Zone and Hamriyah Free Zone.

The UAE’s total trade volume with the UK stands at AED73 billion per year.

“We are determined to make SAIF Zone the most preferred destination for global investment and we are interested in increasing the number of European companies in the zone,” Al Mazrouei said, adding, “Trade relations between the UAE and the UK are growing and we wish to invite more companies to SAIF Zone.” “Many of the entrepreneurs in London were looking forward to improve and branch out their business to the Middle East region to sell their products and services and we successfully highlighted the advantages of the SAIF Zone to them,” he elaborated.

“The two-day show, which is the UK’s leading business exhibition, opened up an excellent opportunity for us to network with the top entrepreneurs of the country”, said Raed Bukhatir, Deputy Commercial Director of SAIF Zone. “We are trying to help SMEs from the UK to expand their businesses to the UAE.” Sharjah Airport International Free Zone is the premier business destination housing over 6,500 companies from 147 countries, carrying out business activities in light to medium manufacturing, trading and providing services such as IT, consultancy, among others.
