Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone Connects Warehouses to FEWA, Ensuring Continuous Power and Reducing Costs

In an effort to substantially reduce clients’ electricity bills, Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone ( RAK FTZ ) has connected all its remaining warehouses and staff accommodations in the RAK FTZ Technology Park to the Federal Electricity & Water Authority ( FEWA ) national grid. The move will ensure smooth and uninterrupted power supplyto RAK FTZ clients throughout the year.

“Our clients in the Technology Park will see a significant reduction in their operating expenses, while enjoying a better quality and consistency of power,” said Eyad Ismail, Head of RAK FTZ ‘s Engineering Department. “The Technology Park’s new connection to the FEWA grid is in line with RAK FTZ ‘s mission to provide the best facilities and services to our clients while reducing their costs, allowing them to maximise their profits.” RAK FTZ has built a power infrastructure that includes eight substations and a switching station so that the Technology Parkcan receive power directly from FEWA and be fully configured for upcoming RAK FTZ expansion projects. The RAK FTZ Technology Park caters to trading and light industrial manufacturing activities. The new power infrastructure is built according to FEWA ‘s international standards to ensure the highest quality infrastructure for RAK FTZ clients.

“As the Technology Park grows, FEWA will expand its network to accommodate the growth of the free zone and its clients,” Mr Ismail said. ” FEWA has a growing network in the Northern Emirates, with many power plants and a network of power infrastructure. Permanent power will allow the clients to work in shifts and enhance the power capacity of their facilities. This new connection to FEWA will further assist our clients in growing their profitable companies in RAK FTZ .”
