Economy and Commerce Minister Commends Qatar-US Relations

HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani has praised the evolving relations between Qatar and the United States, especially in trade and economic cooperation.

HE Economy and Commerce Minister said, in a speech during a visit on Saturday to the headquarters of the NASDAQ Stock Market in New York where he met with NASDAQ Chief Executive Officer and a number of senior US officials, that those relations have been characterized by mutual understanding and a constructive spirit of cooperation.

He added that Qatar, with its open economy, welcomes all investors wishing to enter the Qatari market, commending its development policy derived from the Qatar Vision 2030, which prioritizes the private sector in sustainable development plans.

HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce said that the private sector coupled with the public sector is taking the Qatari economy towards further growth and prosperity through cooperation and mutual benefits with all trading partners.

For his part, the NASDAQ Chief Executive Officer, in a speech on this occasion, lauded the role of Qatar on regional and international levels, noting that Qatar harnessed its various resources to provide its citizens with a decent living and well-being, and to build good relations with its trading partners.
