Rahmania Power Station today went into operation as part of the efforts to implement the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide uninterrupted electricity supply to the area.

On the occasion, Dr Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa), said the new facility would enable Sewa to provide efficient electricity services to the area.

He added that the station was built as per international best practices, being the first in the Arab World to adopt the United National Industrial Development Organisation’s Global Industrial Energy Efficiency Benchmarking and ISO 50001 – Energy management, which supports organizations in all sectors to use energy more efficiently through the development of an energy management system (EnMS).
