DEWA receives Sudanese delegation

 Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has received a delegation from the Republic of Sudan, comprising a number of government officials.

The visit aimed to provide an overview of the best practices adopted by DEWA in the field of information technology and smart government initiatives. The visit is part of a number of visits by local, regional and global institutions that are hosted by DEWA to strengthen cooperation and the exchange of expertise and experiences with its counterparts.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, said, “DEWA is keen to contribute effectively to supporting the Smart City initiative launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to transform Dubai into the smartest city in the world over the next three years. We are also focused on driving Dubai’s sustainable development vision by facilitating and supporting initiatives that promote green technologies to increase energy efficiency and the conservation of natural resources,” “DEWA is committed to promoting this trend by adopting innovative technologies that enhance its leadership in the area of smart services and develop them continuously, as per the highest standards of quality and sustainability, to promote the comfort and happiness of our customers,” added Al Tayer.

The Sudanese delegation, headed by Dr. Abdul Motaal Mohammed Abdul Rahman, Director of External Relations at the Department of the Centre for the Future of Sudan, was received by Moza Al Akraf, Acting VP of IT and CIO at DEWA, and other senior officials.
