Milan Expo tapped for design inspiration

A delegation from the Ministry of Public Works has been briefed on the best innovative design and presentation methods during its visit to Expo Milano 2015, WAM media has reported.

The visit aims to boost the ministry’s plans in the areas of infrastructure, development and innovation to keep pace with Expo 2020 Dubai vision, through touring pavilions, especially those of developed countries to acquaint with their infrastructure projects and experiences.

Eng. Azza Sulaiman, director of the designs department and head of the delegation, said the visit comes in line with the keenness of the ministry and the directives of Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Works, to participate at major international exhibitions to acquaint with experiences of exhibitors in the area of infrastructure.

A statement from Sulaiman said the visit also comes within the framework of current preparations to host Expo 2020 Dubai. She expects 180 countries to take part in the event.

She added that the world is monitoring the huge preparations by Dubai to host the hard-won event after intense competition with major countries.
